Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and facilitate events such as children’s birthday parties and craft classes within a Michaels store to provide a stress‑free, fun, and engaging experience for guests.
- Deliver friendly customer service by guiding customers through the store and providing solutions to their needs.
- Ensure all customers receive a fast and friendly checkout experience.
- Complete operational tasks including truck unload, merchandise duties, and maintaining store recovery standards as needed to deliver Brand Promises.
- Engage with clients of all ages (4 – 94+), demonstrating and instructing craft projects, face painting, and other party activities.
- Facilitate and implement party add‑ons such as goody bags, balloons, and other add‑ons in accordance with company standards.
- Communicate event details with clients and store team members, adjusting plans based on client feedback and needs.
- Create backup or emergency plans to be executed as needed and ensure client satisfaction for scheduled events.
- Uphold cleanliness and safety standards, set up, break down, and clean before and after each event.
- Assist with Omni‑channel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
- Participate in daily store cleanliness activities such as sweeping, vacuuming, dusting, and maintaining restroom hygiene.
- Support inventory tasks such as stocking, planogram (POG) operations, merchandise recovery, and perform Store in Stock Optimization (SISO) and AD set duties as assigned.
- Cross‑train in Custom Framing selling and production.
- Energetic, enthusiastic, and personable with the ability to handle job stress.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively with guests of all ages and co‑workers.
- Strong communication skills (written, verbal, non‑verbal) and active listening ability.
- Organizational and creative problem‑solving skills.
- Experience working with children and children’s events.
- Retail and/or customer service experience required.
- Ability to remain standing for long periods and move throughout the store.
- Regular bending, lifting, carrying, reaching, stretching, and lifting heavy boxes.
- Accessing high shelves by ladder or similar equipment.

Position base pay range: $11.41–$13.20 per hour.
