Responsibilities- Act as a Sales Associate for the retail store by selling products to businesses and industrial customers.
- Sells industrial, medical, and specialty gases, welding supplies and related equipment.
- Solicit sales with existing and potential customers and handle all associated paperwork.
- Advise customers on equipment and materials needed and procedures to complete tasks.
- Demonstrate use of equipment.
- Arrange for delivery of cylinders and hardgoods and maintain showroom displays.
- Assist customers with merchandise and loading/unloading of cylinders.
- Communicate in person and on the telephone with customers regarding cost, ordering, and delivery times.
- Monitor customer needs and maintain proper hardgood and cylinder levels to minimize emergency deliveries.
- Check accounts receivable status; contact customers on past‑due accounts and collect payments.
- Ensure all required paperwork is accurately completed, including coding, costing, and pricing.
- Coordinate with purchasing department regarding product shortages or outages.
- Observe all administrative, accounting, and safety procedures.
- High school diploma or equivalent; some college preferred.
- Customer service or sales experience.
- Industry and related product knowledge, especially compressed gases.
- Computer order entry system experience.
- SAP knowledge a plus.
- Bilingual.
- Forklift certification or ability to become certified.
- Team player with positive attitude.
- Ability to lift 25–60 lbs., frequent bending.
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary.
- Ability to perform occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling and finger activities.
- Work in a drug‑free, tobacco‑free workplace.
