Perform a variety of routine and complex technical duties involved in conducting specialized tests such as biological, biochemical, serological, parasitological, bacteriological, hematological, urological and clinical tests in support of research initiatives. Responsible for accurate results and re‑testing when appropriate.

• Participate in research data collection and documentation within relevant guidelines and protocols; develop and evaluate new research techniques and procedures. Studies using awake and anesthetized rodent and large animals will be assisted. Perform chemical, biological, cytologic, microscopic, histologic, surgical, clinical, statistical/computational and dissection procedures. Training will be provided for unfamiliar tasks. Maintain records for animal welfare compliance.
• Perform experimental studies in rodents and large animals designed to evaluate and test the efficacy of deep brain stimulation to modify the course of Alzheimer’s Disease.
• Contribute to lab management: determine needed supplies and equipment, make purchasing decisions, place orders, maintain inventory database and hard copies for inventories such as chemicals, supplies, frozen cells and tissues, DNA clones, antibodies, etc.

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent with two years of college level work in the physical and/or biological sciences.
• Considerable experience performing diagnostic laboratory tests and examinations in the specialized area assigned.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.

Shift: Days;
Monday – Friday

Pay Band: B4;
Salary Minimum: $17.02 per hour. Salary commensurate with qualifications within the established range.
