Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Security Systems Technician to install, maintain, and repair low-voltage security alarm and access control systems at commercial new construction and remodel sites. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled technician to showcase their abilities and transition into a full-time role with a growing company.
Key Responsibilities- Install, service, and repair security alarm systems, access control systems, cameras, and related low-voltage equipment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical layouts, and building plans.
- Drill holes and route wiring through walls, ceilings, floors, joists, and roof spaces as required.
- Pull, terminate, and secure cables, wires, and strapping to connect system components.
- Mount and fasten control panels, sensors, door and window contacts, cameras, raceways, and conduits.
- Secure wiring to framing using appropriate fastening methods and tools.
- Test and troubleshoot circuits, sensors, backup batteries, keypads, sirens, and all system components.
- Identify and resolve hardware, software, and basic network-related issues.
- Demonstrate working knowledge of IPv4 networking, including assigning IP addresses.
- Complete projects on time, within budget, and in compliance with safety standards.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, customer service, and professionalism.
- Submit all required documentation and paperwork accurately and on time.
- Follow all company and project-specific safety policies.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- 3+ years of low-voltage field experience (security systems preferred).
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Professional communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Comfortable interacting with customers, vendors, and internal team members.
- Technicians must supply their own hand tools.
- Required PPE includes steel-toe boots, hard hat, and safety vest.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Ability to stand, walk, reach, and use hands and arms for up to 8 hours per day.
- Ability to climb ladders (up to 8 feet routinely).
- Ability to work in confined spaces such as basements, crawl spaces, and attics.
- Must be able to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as needed.
- Good hand-eye coordination and ability to operate automated tools and equipment.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Augusta, GA.
Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $28.00/hr.
