Job Description
Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking an individual for the position of Heavy Equipment Operator based out of Vienna, GA
. The successful candidate will demonstrate an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
- Adhere to Reeves Construction Company safety programs to ensure a safe work environment.
- Monitor all steps of the operation to ensure Standard Quality and Operating Practices and guidelines are followed.
- Operate Bulldozer, Excavator, Loader, or Motor Grader.
- Spread dirt in fill areas, finish dress to plan specifications, load material from stockpiles or excavations, finish grade with a loader, and handle materials.
- Employ GPS machine control.
- Backfill trenches and excavations.
- Exercise caution when digging around underground utilities and overhead wire.
- Assist with equipment maintenance and routine adjustments.
- Willingness to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Strong knowledge of plans and specifications, OSHA Trenching Requirements, and Safety Protocol.
- Minimum age 18 years.
- Flexibility to work at diverse locations, with potential daily changes.
- Expectations of variable hours, including possible night shifts.
- Six months to one year of experience operating construction equipment.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Reliable transportation to work.
- Adherence to safety procedures at all times.
- Punctuality, consistent attendance, and self‑direction.
The job requires frequent use of hands and fingers, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, walking, talking, hearing, and the ability to lift or move up to 60 pounds. Vision must be 20/40 (with or without corrective lenses). Hearing should be excellent or effectively aided.
