Job Overview
Air Products is seeking a Customer Field Service & Construction Technician for its Customer Engineering team in the southern United States. This residence‑based role requires 50-75% travel, primarily in Georgia and surrounding areas. The technician will install, startup, operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cryogenic and gas product storage systems, read technical drawings, and ensure safety in all tasks.
Key Job Responsibilities- Install product storage, processing, and delivery equipment at customer sites, including cryogenic tanks, pumps, and piping.
- Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair cryogenic and gas equipment operating in liquid oxygen, nitrogen, argon, hydrogen, and carbon dioxide.
- Execute safe rigging and lifting procedures; supervise crane contractors and act as lift supervisor for lifts up to 250tons.
- Demonstrate high safety standards while performing on‑site activities and while driving company vehicles.
- Practice quality brazing techniques, pressure test piping, and handle hand tools safely.
- Read engineering drawings, flow sheets, equipment layouts, piping diagrams, and electrical control schematics.
- Track material and labor costs accurately and maintain proper project documentation.
- Provide customer interface, contract supervision, system startup, operational readiness, and ongoing maintenance support.
- Pass a service/pickup truck road test, DOT physical, and hold a valid driver’s license.
- Proficient with hand tools, mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
- Computer skills for project execution and day‑to‑day duties.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and customer service skills.
- Strong safety awareness and ability to lift 50lb+ and climb stairs and ladders.
- High School diploma or GED.
- Trade, technical degree, apprenticeship, or military service considered equivalent.
- Class
A CDL preferred but not required. - Clean driving record and 75% travel flexibility.
