Job Title
Water Resources Trades Associate (Level I, II, or III) – Gwinnett County, GA
Job DescriptionInvestigate, maintain, and repair water distribution and collection assets. Work independently on site visits to assess equipment conditions, troubleshoot customer issues, and coordinate utility repairs. Use specialized equipment, data analysis tools, and field records to document findings and submit work orders.
Responsibilities- Inspect equipment and materials for proper installation, preventive maintenance, and potential hazards.
- Analyze field data with specialized tools and input results into work orders.
- Assist customers with on‑site questions, concerns, and troubleshooting of utility services.
- Complete detailed reports and activity logs.
- Conduct investigations, research, and on‐site meetings with customers to discuss findings.
- Maintain and restock assigned vehicles with necessary equipment and materials.
- Work in confined spaces and perform repetitive physical tasks such as squatting, kneeling, lifting, and shoveling.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Serve as a liaison between the County and citizens during utility repair coordination.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Valid Driver's License;
Georgia commercial driver's license (CDL) required for Levels II and III, to be obtained within one year. - Confined Space certification required for Levels II and III, to be obtained within 6 months of hire.
- Two years of related work experience (for Level II) or equivalent education/experience for Level III.
- Pre‑employment drug and alcohol testing; ongoing random testing for a safety‑sensitive position.
- Availability for on‑call rotation and emergency after‑hours, weekends, and holidays as required.
- CPR/First Aid certificate (within 6 months);
Road Flagging certificate (within 12 months);
Trenching and Excavation certificate (within 12 months);
Water Distribution/Wastewater Collection license (within 12 months).
Water Resources Trades Associate I: $40,000.00 – $59,052.00 (Grade A12(3))
Water Resources Trades Associate II: $44,968.00 – $71,948.00 (Grade B21(3))
Water Resources Trades Associate III: $53,286.00 – $85,258.00 (Grade B23(3))
