Job QualificationsEducation: High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical coursework in commercial roofing technology, repairs, or maintenance is preferred.
Certification or Licensure: Must possess a valid state driver’s license.
Skills: Demonstrates the ability to safely and effectively use a wide range of construction tools and equipment. Possesses leadership ability with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Work Experience: Four years of experience in construction or commercial roofing preferred; an equivalent combination of vocational training and related experience may be considered.
Primary DutyThis position is responsible for completing construction-related and commercial roofing maintenance work throughout the school district to support facility safety and operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Plans and performs duties as a construction technician in the maintenance of school district facilities, with an emphasis on commercial roofing needs.
- Maintains and repairs all types of roofing systems throughout the district, including sealing and repairing leaks around rooftop equipment and HVAC units.

The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee must have the ability to climb ladders, and work in varying weather and environmental conditions. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee is frequently required to walk, stand, and sit.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTSOccasional evening and weekend work. Overtime and night work are occasional but limited.
