What You'll Do

As a Field Service Technician, you'll install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain WOW! services while delivering an exceptional customer experience.

Daily

Responsibilities Include:

  • Installing, upgrading, reconnecting, disconnecting, and modifying internet, video, and phone services
  • Installing and relocating outlets, converters, modems, and customer equipment
  • Running interior and exterior wiring
  • Diagnosing signal, picture quality, and connectivity issues
  • Troubleshooting from the customer device all the way to the network tap
  • Repairing and replacing network components and coaxial cable
  • Performing speed tests, ping tests, trace routes, and network diagnostics
  • Training customers on the proper use of equipment and services
  • Ensuring compliance with FCC, NESC, OSHA, and WOW! standards
  • Maintaining company vehicles, tools, and equipment
  • Completing work orders and documentation accurately
  • Delivering outstanding customer service at every interaction
What You'll Need
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to explain technical information to non-technical customers
  • Ability to operate handheld technology and field service applications
  • Ability to read maps and navigate service areas
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts as needed
Technical Skills
  • Experience using testing equipment such as:
    Signal Level Meters (SLM) Volt-OHM Meters
  • Ability to maintain accurate records, work orders, and service documentation
Physical Requirements

This position is active, hands-on, and performed in a variety of indoor and outdoor environments. Candidates must be able to:

  • Work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Lift and carry up to 90 pounds
  • Carry and safely operate extension ladders (up to approximately 28 feet and 75 pounds)
  • Work at heights, including rooftops and utility poles
  • Work in confined spaces such as attics and crawl spaces
  • Bend, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb, reach, push, pull, and grasp regularly
  • Distinguish between wire colors and sizes
  • Safely operate company vehicles and work near electrical equipment and power lines
