Job Title: District Family Engagement Specialist
FLSA Status: Exempt
Reports To: Director of Accountability and Federal Programs
Days Worked: 235 Days (12 months)
Qualifications- Education: Bachelor’s degree in teaching, school counseling, social work, psychology, child development or family dynamics from an accredited college or university.
- Certification or Licensure: None
- Work Experience: Three years of successful experience working with children and families.
- Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; self‑motivated and able to collaborate with school staff, parents, and community; able to identify service gaps, mediate solutions, manage programs, and engage cross‑culturally; proficiency in technology.
- Provide oversight and support for school‑based Parent Facilitators and community engagement efforts.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to lead the development and dissemination of parent resources, content and engagement strategies.
- Organize and conduct community forums, stakeholder meetings, district‑wide events and parent workshops in coordination with school staff.
- Attend board meetings and assist in addressing district‑wide parent and community concerns.
- Utilize consistent, two‑way communication tools to engage with families and the broader community.
- Conduct visits and outreach to new families to assess needs and strengthen the home‑school‑community connection.
- Schedule and participate in workshops, training and meetings to exchange information relevant to family engagement work.
- Disseminate key information about district curriculum, instructional initiatives and assessment data to families.
- Support principals and supervisors in monitoring and enhancing school‑based parent programs.
- Build school staff capacity on the value of parent involvement and effective strategies for engagement.
- Plan and coordinate parent in‑service trainings to support student learning at home and school.
- Recruit, train and oversee parent volunteers with a focus on Title I, IDEA and other targeted populations.
- Maintain accurate records of all engagement activities, events and volunteer efforts.
- Develop and implement a wide range of family‑centered programs and events.
- Assist families and students with social‑emotional and mental health needs through dialogue, mentoring and resource referral.
- Facilitate effective communication and dissemination of materials to parents and stakeholders.
- Perform any additional duties assigned by supervisor or school personnel as required.

Special RequirementsAttendance at evening meetings, presentations, ceremonies and school programs is required. Overtime or night work may be required.

Salary: $51,838 to $69,768 SY
Additional Requirements- At least 3 years of relevant experience preferred.
