The DHS’ Division of Child Support Services (DCSS) is seeking candidates to fill the position of Fatherhood Outreach Specialist 3, this position will report to the Father Outreach Specialist Supervisor.

This position is located in Augusta, GA (Richmond County).

Under direct supervision, establishes and enforces child support obligations of responsible parents. Coordinates child support activities with legal, judicial and public organizations.

Role

and Responsibilities
  • Establishes child support obligations and ensures that such obligations are met.
  • Coordinates child support activities with legal, judicial and public organizations and conducts administrative hearings.
  • Communicate with clients and other constituents via telephone, email correspondence and direct contact to ensure that support obligations are met.
  • Manages a caseload to ensure that child support obligations are met.
  • Supervises other case managers or serves as a team leader, as required.
  • Performs other professional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Core Competencies
  • Experience working with state, local, or federal government
  • Work experience involving mentoring and coaching
  • Ability to work independently
  • Exceptional critical thinking skills, good judgement and decision-making abilities to monitor and manage a caseload to ensure that child support obligations are met
  • Ability to use customer service skills to include active listening and negotiation ability
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and one (1) year of relevant experience (such as human services or legal services case management work experience)
    -or
    - High School diploma or GED and three (3) years relevant experience (such as human services or legal services case management work experience)
    -or
    - Two (2) years’ experience at the lower-level Child Support Services Agent 2 (SST
    061) or position equivalent
