Railway Operations & Coordination
- Manage and optimize railway transportation across CIS countries, with emphasis on the South Caucasus and Central Asia corridors.
- Coordinate shipments via key national railway operators such as Georgian Railways, Azerbaijan Railways, and regional networks in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and neighboring countries.
- Ensure compliance with regional railway regulations, tariffs, and operational standards.
- Establish and maintain cooperation with rolling stock owners, including:
- Private wagon operators
- State-owned railway monopolies
- Manage wagon allocation, utilization, and turnaround efficiency.
- Negotiate terms for leasing, usage, and priority access.
- Develop direct working relationships with key ports and terminals such as:
- Poti and Batumi Sea Ports
- Port of Alat
- Port of Kuryk and Aktau
- Coordinate sea‑to‑rail, road‑to‑rail, rail‑to‑sea and road‑to‑sea transshipment operations.
- Monitor cargo handling performance and resolve bottlenecks.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with:
- Railway administrations
- Freight forwarders
- Terminal operators
- Government and regulatory bodies
- Globalink branches
- Act as the primary liaison for railway‑related operational issues.
- Identify inefficiencies in transport chains and implement improvements.
- Monitor KPIs such as transit times, wagon turnaround, and cost efficiency.
- Develop contingency plans for disruptions (border delays, infrastructure constraints, etc.).
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Logistics, Transport, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum 5–10 years of experience in railway logistics within the CIS region.
- Strong knowledge of:
- CIS railway systems and tariff structures
- Cross‑border rail operations
- Multimodal transport (rail‑sea integration)
- Proven experience working with both private and state‑owned rolling stock operators.
- Established network within railway administrations and port authorities is highly preferred.
- Deep regional expertise in CIS railway infrastructure.
- Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
- Operational problem‑solving and analytical thinking.
- Fluency in Georgian, English and Russian (additional regional languages are an advantage).
- Ability to work in complex, multi‑country environments.
- Experience with transit corridors such as the Trans‑Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).
- Familiarity with digital rail logistics systems and tracking platforms.
- Background in freight forwarding, commodities, or large‑scale industrial logistics.
