Mission

Reeves Construction Company is currently seeking an individual for the position of Dump Truck Driver in Augusta, GA. The successful candidate will have an uncompromising focus on safety excellence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Operate a truck equipped with a dump body to transport and dump loose materials such as sand, gravel, crushed rock, coal, and bituminous paving materials; or operate a truck equipped with a water tank to transport and spread water on job sites.
  • Conduct pre‑trip inspection checklists on equipment such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
  • Handle paperwork concerning Department of Transportation regulations, freight weigh bills, fuel tickets, and load tickets.
  • Carry out detailed instructions, take directions to job sites, and use good judgment in decision‑making to work without direct supervision.
  • Operate the vehicle safely in traffic situations and follow company policies and procedures.
Education and/or Experience
  • High school diploma or GED; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combinations of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (no restrictions preferred but not required).
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to work days and nights.
  • Must be able to work some Saturdays (as needed).
  • Must meet all DOT requirements for CDL drivers, including the DOT physical exam.
Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Climb onto and up and down a vehicle several times a day.
  • Sit in a vehicle and operate it for several hours without stopping.
  • Withstand vibration from truck, road, and job site conditions as well as noise from the truck engine, other equipment, and other traffic.
  • Use arms, hands, and feet in repetitive motions.
  • Perform light manual duties, such as sweeping debris and rocks out of the truck bed or trailer, handling tarpaulins, tailgate chains, binders, and binding chains.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
  • Maintain required vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Employees must have 20/40 vision, naturally or with corrective lenses. Hearing should be excellent or corrected by an audio device.
Work Environment

The work environment features moving mechanical parts, outside weather conditions, and vibration. Employees are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles. They may occasionally be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, high and precarious places, and toxic or caustic chemicals. The noise level is usually very loud.
