Loadout​/Ground Operator

Columbus Quarry, LLC is seeking a Loadout/Ground Operator for their quarry located in Fortson, GA. This position is a vital safety and logistical role, responsible for managing the safe staging, flow, and loading of haul trucks and transport vehicles at the quarry. The primary objective of this position is to keep operations moving seamlessly while minimizing blind-spot accidents around heavy equipment.

Role/Responsibilities

• Act as a visual guide for haul truck drivers to correctly align their beds with conveyor belts, drop chutes, or scales
• Frequently shovel and rake spilled aggregate (gravel, sand, rock, etc.) off the ground, roads, and scale decks to prevent flat tires and conveyor damage
• Assist in the maintenance of aggregate crushers, screens, and conveyor loadout systems
• Serve as the ground-level 'eyes for heavy equipment operators whohave blind spots
• Safely and efficiently operate heavy equipment of various sizes and weights used in mining operations
• Perform daily pre-and-post inspections with appropriate documentation in compliance with Company policies
• Perform general labor duties when necessary
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements and Skills

• Ability to maintain safe working conditions
• Self-motivated, able to perform required duties without constant supervision
• Ability to learn quickly
• Must be willing to work overtime and weekends as needed
• The role requires frequent bending, heavy lifting (up to 50lbs) climbing ladders and working in the elements
• Previous experience loading trucks is preferred
