Overview

Position located at Fort Gordon – Family & Morale, Welfare and Recreation – Business Operations Division.

• Operate a warehouse‑type tractor to transport material and equipment or operate lightweight mowing tractors.
• Tow wheeled trailers, dump carts and skids that are connected to the tractor with a simple coupling device such as a pin and eye.
• Load and unload cargo in trailers ensuring that towed vehicles are properly loaded and connected to the tractor.
• Perform limited operator maintenance on tractors.
• Work on improved surfaces, transporting materials through warehouses, parking areas and roads.

• Must maintain the physical requirements of the position.
• Subject to satisfactory pre‑employment checks, including a physical examination.
• May be required to complete a Tier 1 background investigation for a Common Access Card.
• Direct deposit and Social Security Card are required.
• Meet all qualification, eligibility and background requirements for this position.
• Successfully complete an employment verification (E‑Verify) check.
• Males born after 12‑31‑59 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
• Position, duty hours, location, or activity are subject to change based on mission requirements.
• Operators are subject to drafts, noise, varying temperatures inside, weather and temperature extremes outside, high noise levels, vibrations and jolts from the tractor and towed equipment.
• Operators may frequently lift and carry parts and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must possess and maintain a current valid driver's license.

• Directly related experience operating warehouse‑type tractors and associated equipment and performing minor maintenance on equipment.
• May be required to obtain a government motor‑vehicle operator's permit.
