Although Hajoca is a large company, we work in a decentralized environment where each of our locations, called Profit Centers (PCs), is run by the Profit Center Manager as if it were their own small business. A typical Profit Center is the heart of our business and consists of a warehouse, counter, sales office, and (sometimes) a showroom. Our PCs conduct business under unique trade names and offer a customized business approach, honoring what’s special about each local marketplace.
Aboutthe Role
All‑Tex Pipe & Supply, one of those trade names, is looking for a Receiving Teammate at their Houston, TX location. Pay for this position is between $18 and $22 per hour.
Responsibilities- Count, verify, and receive incoming vendor shipments and customer return material.
- Stock and maintain the warehouse; pick, document, and pack customer orders in accordance with company policy and procedure.
- Ensure highest levels of customer satisfaction through high attention to detail.
- Handle all shipping discrepancies per procedures or forward appropriate paperwork to designated employee.
- Identify nonstock, special‑order material, and damaged material and store in proper warehouse locations.
- Complete necessary documentation for customer shipments delivered via third‑party carrier.
- Load and unload trucks, operate warehouse forklift, and other material handling equipment safely.
- Inform supervisor of stock depletions, count discrepancies, or damaged/defective/non‑saleable merchandise that could impact customer service levels.
- Ensure security and control measures are in place to protect Profit Center assets.
- Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety; remove empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris; inform supervisor of safety issues.
- Assist co‑workers in servicing customers.
- Perform all job functions in accordance with the company’s safety standards and complete required safety and compliance training programs.
- Perform other reasonably related duties as assigned by supervisor and management.
- 1 year warehouse receiving and material handling experience.
- Knowledge of products sold at the Profit Center preferred.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Rapid development of comprehensive product knowledge.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and co‑workers.
- Knowledge and practice of safety precautions in a warehouse environment.
- Ability to learn and safely operate a forklift and other material handling equipment used at the Profit Center.
- Ability to learn and operate the computer‑related systems used for warehouse operations.
- Read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Basic arithmetic skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
