This position is responsible for receiving, sorting and storing donated items in the Donation Center; determining the acceptability of donated items based on established standards; operating baler; and assisting in maintaining the orderliness and cleanliness of the warehouse area.

• Receives, inspects and sorts donated items according to category and condition.
• Selects items suitable for storage and distributes them to the appropriate storage area in accordance with established procedures.
• Tags items with dates in accordance with established procedures.
• Packs items in boxes and marks boxes accordingly. Assists in transporting boxes to the appropriate storage area.
• Prepares non-suitable items for discard.

Ability to meet attendance requirements; ability to read, write, and communicate in English; ability to physically lift and carry and/or push/pull light objects (less than 25 lbs). Moderate mobility required. Duties are usually performed by combinations of sitting, standing, and walking on a frequent change basis. Distance of travel is usually within the same building. Work is performed in a warehouse environment with potential exposure to weather changes, noise, dust, dirt, and related conditions.
