Description:

Butler County Special Education Interlocal is currently seeking applications for Special Education Coach for Butler County. Critical skills of the candidate include:

* Ability to coach and/or support professional staff at the classroom and building level.

* Extensive knowledge of IEP development and special education procedures.

* Successful school experience supporting "at risk" and/or "behaviorally challenged" students

* Knowledge of function-based intervention planning for developing behavior change strategies that focuses on reducing problem behavior and increasing more appropriate behavior.

* Knowledge of techniques needed to successfully complete effective Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA), function-based interventions, and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIP).

* The use of assessments and assessment data to inform instruction and prescribe work plans for individual students.

* Utilizing research-based instructional strategies and ability to implement them effectively.

* Ability to plan and evaluate strategies for improving instruction.

* Believes that all children can succeed and demonstrates the commitment to do what is necessary to make this a reality.

Qualifications:

Current Kansas teaching license in the area of special education.
