Associate Banker

Overview

This position is posted in multiple locations and the final work location will be confirmed when an offer is extended. The role focuses on delivering exceptional service to BMO customers and prospects, identifying their needs, and providing advice and guidance on financial solutions in the best interests of customers.

• Deliver exceptional service to customers and prospects, identifying needs and recommending appropriate financial solutions.
• Collaborate within the branch and with BMO partners to deliver a superior customer experience and achieve business objectives.
• Facilitate referral opportunities to deepen the customer’s relationship with BMO beyond personal banking.
• Welcome and guide customers, promoting digital and self‑serve options to make banking easy, simple and fast.
• Conduct client conversations about banking services, recommend alternative channels, and provide personal banking and investment advice.
• Meet transaction‑based needs with seamless execution and review customer profiles to identify opportunities.
• Support operational activities such as inventory management, escalated service requests, application follow‑up, filing, and opening/closing activities.
• Integrate marketing promotions and programs into customer conversations to provide strategic advice.
• Organize work information for accuracy, take initiative to personalize each customer’s experience, and contribute to ongoing improvement of the overall customer experience.
• Follow risk and compliance processes and policies to safeguard customers’ assets, protect privacy, and act in customers' best interest.
• Maintain current knowledge of personal banking products, practices, trends, and regulatory environments.
• Identify and report suspicious patterns related to money laundering and comply with all legal and regulatory requirements.
• Complete complex and diverse tasks within established rules, analyze issues, determine next steps, and escalates as required.

• 1–2 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Comfortable using social media, tablets, smartphones, and online tools.
• Experience in consultative customer service or sales roles, with a drive to deliver a personal customer experience.
• Basic knowledge of specialized sales and business banking solutions for referral to specialists.
• Passionate commitment to helping customers and a results‑focused, consultative sales approach.
• Self‑starter with courage and confidence to approach customers and a readiness to collaborate as part of a team.
• Strong interpersonal skills, active listening, problem‑solving and flexibility.
• Good verbal and written communication skills; organisational, collaborative and analytical skills.
• Canada only:
  Registration to sell investment products completed or in progress (must be completed within 12 months).

Salary range: $41,714.00 – $49,000.00, salaried. Additional benefits include health insurance, tuition reimbursement, accident and life insurance, and retirement savings plans.
