- Provide comprehensive financial and administrative support for accurate and timely payment processing.
- Conduct pre-audits of invoices and travel reimbursement vouchers to verify compliance with policies and accounting requirements.
- Process and track accounts receivable and payable entries in MaineDOT and State accounting systems.
- Maintain and update customer, vendor, and employee information in the State’s accounting systems.
- Ensure accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality of financial records while maintaining compliance with state policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting theories, principles, methods, practices, and terminology.
- Proficient with computerized accounting systems and strong Excel skills.
- Familiarity with standardized desktop technology and products.
- Ability to apply GAAP to account for revenue, expenditures, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work as a team member.
- Education or experience in accounting, business administration, financial planning, budgeting, or a related field.
- Demonstrated competency in analyzing data and records, interpreting policies, and developing practical solutions.
