We have an immediate opening for an Administrative Operations Specialist for an office with a tax focus in Augusta. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience with a State of Maine department while building skills that can open doors to future government opportunities. This position pays $25 per hour and is a temporary assignment with the potential for extension.

- Contact taxpayers by phone and in writing to obtain or clarify information
- Discuss and explain tax forms, policies, and procedures with taxpayers
- Review tax returns, applications, and records for completeness and accuracy
- Maintain detailed records and update information using spreadsheets and other computer systems
- Provide administrative support related to tax documentation and compliance processes
- Strong administrative and customer service experience
- Proficiency with spreadsheets and general computer applications
- Ability to review and discuss tax-related documents with professionalism and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
