Job Summary
As a Compliance Specialist, you'll play a critical role in overseeing the Maine General Health Compliance Program, supporting departments with expert guidance and ensuring alignment with federal and state regulations. Our team goes beyond problem‑solving; we empower departments with the tools and knowledge to succeed. This position is onsite at the Ballard Center in Augusta, offering a collaborative environment where great ideas happen.
Responsibilities- Act as a compliance resource, staying current on regulations and offering clear guidance.
- Audit clinical documentation and revenue cycle processes, recommending and monitoring corrective actions.
- Develop and deliver compliance education across all workforce levels.
- Research coding, billing, and documentation requirements to support departments.
- Exceptional communication and critical thinking skills, attention to detail, resourcefulness, and a commitment to process improvement.
- Strong research skills to find reliable sources to uncover information and answer stakeholder questions quickly and accurately.
- Even‑keeled manner, possess self‑awareness, and base decisions on analysis of fact.
- Background in a health system's Revenue Cycle operations is highly preferred.
- Moderate understanding of Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
