Job Description
WSP is one of the Globe's leading engineering firms. We are hiring a Senior Paving Construction Inspector to oversee multiple types of urban and rural pavement rehabilitation or preservation projects with construction values ranging from $1 million to $25 million. This position can be based out of Portland, Augusta, Eliot, ME, or Merrimack, NH.
Your Impact- Interfacing with contractors and attending meetings.
- Mentoring or supervising other inspectors on behalf of the resident engineer or project manager.
- Completing daily reports, measuring and calculating unit price quantities.
- Coordinating independent material sampling and testing.
- Monitoring maintenance of traffic.
- Taking and compiling photographs to track daily progress.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma.
- 9 years of applicable experience.
- Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, design plans and specifications.
- Valid driver's license.
- Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
- Exercise responsible and ethical decision‑making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adherence to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
- Authorization to work in the United States.
- Associate of Science degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field.
- NETTCP HMA certifications, or ability to attain within 3 months of hiring.
- Average proficiency with MS Word Suite.
- Hands‑on experience with construction management software such as Site or Field Manager, APPIA, Procore, IPD or similar systems. Knowledge of Bluebeam.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills.
- Any combination of college education, professional licenses, certifications and experience will be considered.
