Commercial Project Superintendent – State of Maine

Salary: $100,000 - $135,000 per year.

Company Overview

We handle projects of all sizes and complexity—educational, industrial, commercial, multifamily, mixed‑use, and more. Our superintendents coordinate onsite work with subcontractors, plan material deliveries, solve onsite issues with the project team, maintain daily logs, hold subcontractor meetings, and lead the onsite team to successful project completion.

Responsibilities
  • Supervising and coordinating all construction activities related to assigned commercial projects.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and within budget.
  • Developing comprehensive project plans to share with clients and staff.
  • Overseeing onsite and offsite construction to monitor compliance with building and safety regulations.
  • Collaborating with clients to identify and define project requirements, scope, and objectives.
  • Coordinating and directing construction workers and subcontractors.
  • Reviewing work progress daily and adjusting schedules and plans as needed.
  • Ensuring quality construction standards and proper techniques.
  • Resolving problems that arise during construction.
  • Preparing internal and external reports on job status.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 years experience as a Commercial Project Superintendent or similar role.
  • Proven experience in commercial construction projects.
  • Advanced knowledge of construction management processes, methods, and means.
  • Expert knowledge of building products, construction details, and relevant rules, regulations, and quality standards.
  • Understanding of construction procedures and material and project management principles.
  • Familiarity with construction/project management software.
  • Outstanding communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
  • Team player with leadership abilities.
  • BSc/BA in engineering, building science, or relevant field.
  • PMP or equivalent certification considered an advantage.
