Responsibilities

This position is responsible for planning, scripting, and facilitating studio and field-based video production of both short‑and long‑form videos for an internal or public‑facing audience. The individual will oversee the entire lifecycle of a video project from pre‑production, production, and post‑production, and manage and optimize content on third‑party websites such as You Tube and other social media platforms. The Video & Digital Media Coordinator will communicate complex issues effectively through visual storytelling and writing to both technical and non‑technical audiences.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Facilitating requests from the news media, writing press releases, and contributing to the office’s other multimedia content creation tasks.
  • Photography with a DSLR camera, podcast production, graphic design, and writing.
  • Overseeing storage of the department’s photo and video assets and implementing and organizing the Digital Asset Management (DAM) system, including metadata keyword tagging.
  • Maintaining the department’s AV equipment and providing basic troubleshooting and technical support of videoconferencing or audiovisual systems and software on Windows‑based computers.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Premiere, After Effects, Lightroom, Audition, and Photoshop; experience with Adobe Illustrator and InDesign is a plus.

Work may involve standard office environments and fieldwork on roadsides or construction sites across the state, with occasional statewide travel for public meetings or events.

Qualifications

The candidate must demonstrate proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite and possess knowledge of a variety of audiovisual systems, including live‑streaming IP cameras and speaker systems. Preferred qualifications include:

  • A broad understanding of communication, marketing and social media strategies, including excellent writing and copyediting skills.
  • Experience as an on‑camera talent, either as a traditional broadcast journalist or on other non‑traditional platforms such as social media.
  • Experience working in the construction industry.
  • Certification as a Part
    107 Commercial UAS Pilot through the FAA.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Four (4) years of related work experience, or equivalent experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree on a year‑for‑year basis.
  • A bachelor’s degree in an assigned area.
