- Monday through Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Performance Food service is seeking a customer-focused, detail-oriented Customer Service Associate to join our team in Augusta, Maine. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while supporting our sales team and internal operations. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong customer-first mindset, maintains a professional demeanor, and possesses solid technical skills, particularly within the Microsoft Office Suite.
Advanced proficiency in Excel

As a Customer Service Associate, you play a vital role in delivering an exceptional customer experience and supporting the success of our business. As a member of the Sales Support Team, you will serve as the first point of contact for customers with questions regarding orders, products, and services.
This position acts as a liaison between customers, Sales Account Representatives, and internal departments to ensure issues are resolved efficiently and customer needs are met. Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to service excellence.
Key Responsibilities- Process customer orders and transactions accurately and efficiently
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, services, pricing, and order status
- Troubleshoot customer concerns and proactively resolve issues
- Communicate customer feedback and service trends to internal departments
- Maintain accurate records and documentation within company systems
- Participate in training sessions, team meetings, and ongoing professional development
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
- Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service
- Professional and positive communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience working within a SharePoint environment preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
6 to 12 months of customer service, call center, administrative support, or related experience.
Demonstrated customer-focused approach with a professional, positive demeanor.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel skills.
Experience working within a SharePoint environment.
Ability to multitask, prioritize responsibilities, and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Preferred qualifications:- 1 to 2 years of customer service, call center, sales support, or related experience.
- Previous experience within the food service, distribution, or logistics industry.
- Experience supporting internal sales teams and customer accounts.
- Familiarity with order processing, customer account management, and issue resolution.
- Ability to work collaboratively in an in-office team environment.
- Must be available to work the scheduled in-office hours in Augusta, Maine.
