Performance Food service is seeking a customer-focused, detail-oriented Customer Service Associate to join our team in Augusta, Maine. In this role, you will serve as a key point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service while supporting our sales team and internal operations. The ideal candidate demonstrates a strong customer-first mindset, maintains a professional demeanor, and possesses solid technical skills, particularly within the Microsoft Office Suite.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, along with experience working in a SharePoint environment, is strongly preferred.

Position Purpose
As a Customer Service Associate, you play a vital role in delivering an exceptional customer experience and supporting the success of our business. As a member of the Sales Support Team, you will serve as the first point of contact for customers with questions regarding orders, products, and services. This position acts as a liaison between customers, Sales Account Representatives, and internal departments to ensure issues are resolved efficiently and customer needs are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer orders and transactions accurately and efficiently
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding products, services, pricing, and order status
- Troubleshoot customer concerns and proactively resolve issues
- Communicate customer feedback and service trends to internal departments
- Maintain accurate records and documentation within company systems
- Participate in training sessions, team meetings, and ongoing professional development
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned
Qualifications
- Demonstrated commitment to providing outstanding customer service
- Professional and positive communication skills, both written and verbal
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Experience working within a SharePoint environment preferred
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High attention to detail and accuracy
