The Catherine Cutler Institute at the University of Southern Maine, in partnership with the Maine CDC, is seeking a Coordinator for their Maternal, Fetal, and Infant Mortality Review (MFIMR) Panel.

The MFIMR Panel is a multidisciplinary group of experts who review cases of maternal, fetal, and infant death in Maine to identify contributing factors and guide prevention efforts. Using a public health approach, the program works to strengthen community resources and improve state and local systems that affect birthing people, infants, and families to reduce mortality and improve health outcomes.

Key responsibilities of the Coordinator position include: obtaining, managing, and organizing health care and related records for MFIMR case reviews; abstracting information and preparing comprehensive case summaries; coordinating and facilitating quarterly MFIMR Panel meetings; developing, documenting, and communicating Panel recommendations to stakeholders; supporting program planning, data quality, coordinating and drafting the annual legislative report, and continuous improvement activities; and collaborating with internal and external partners involved in maternal and infant health initiatives.

This position works closely with the Maine CDC’s Maternal Child Health (MCH) program, and will be expected to provide regular program updates and communication to MCH and Maine CDC senior leadership.
