Qualifications:

• Valid teaching credentials specific to teaching students with visual impairments
• Experience developing and implementing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students
• Strong knowledge of adaptive technology and Braille instruction
• Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including general educators, therapists, and families
• Excellent communication skills and a commitment to fostering an inclusive environment
• Previous experience in school-based settings is highly desirable

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assess students' vision-related educational needs and design tailored lesson plans
• Deliver direct instruction in areas such as Braille, assistive technology, orientation and mobility, and compensatory skills
• Monitor student progress, document outcomes, and adjust strategies as needed
• Advocate for and coordinate adaptive materials and classroom modifications
• Consult regularly with staff to provide training and resources that support visually impaired students
• Serve as an educational partner to families, offering guidance and support throughout the school year
