Responsibilities

Responsibilities vary by placement but may include:

  • Deliver specialized instruction to students receiving special education services
  • Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
  • Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation
  • Collaborate with families, teachers, administrators, and related service providers
  • Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings
  • Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions
  • Support students' academic, behavioral, social, and functional growth
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and district special education regulations
  • Foster inclusive and supportive learning environments
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or related field (required)
  • Valid Maine Special Education certification or eligibility for certification
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
  • Experience in school-based special education settings preferred
  • New graduates and experienced educators are encouraged to apply
