Interim Assistant Director, Student Affairs & First-Year Experience
The Interim Assistant Director, Student Affairs & First-Year Experience will provide general support across the Division of Student Affairs. This position will provide support for offices that are specifically working with incoming first years, providing first year programming, and working to support the first-year experience.
With a focus on supporting the first-year experience through the Office of the Dean of Students (ODOS), the Interim Assistant Director, Student Affairs & First-Year Experience provides general academic and social support for a specific cohort of students as well as overall support for the ODOS team. This position plays a strong role in articulating the institutional value of diversity, fostering an equitable and inclusive community, and promoting the health and well-being of individual students.
Additionally, this person will help students navigate academic and personal challenges that arise; assist students in developing tools to make difficult decisions; empower students to be problem-solvers; and connect students to campus resources to facilitate their success.
This is a 10 month fixed-term appointment, from August 15, 2026 to June 15, 2027. The hiring range for this position is expected to be: $50,000 - $52,000.

A Bachelor's degree is required.
Must be collaborative, well organized, with excellent attention to detail, solution-oriented, exercise sound judgment, skilled inactive listening, program facilitation and communicating with multiple constituents.
Experience Requirements and/or EquivalentsEntry level, 1-3 years related experience working with teen/college students preferred.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to:
- support complex programming or initiatives.
- process and respond to complex information.
- clearly communicate policies, practices, and procedures both orally and in writing.
- enjoy working with and supporting students navigating a variety of academic and social circumstances.
- shift gears quickly.
- self-regulate, particularly during more demanding periods.

Standard Work Days and HoursStandard administrative hours are 8:30am - 5:00pm and will include some evenings and weekends. This is a 10-month, 40 hour per week position. Exempt positions require the time commitment necessary to complete the essential duties of the position. In case of weather emergency, this position is non-essential.
