JMG is looking to fill our opening at Portland Arts and Technology High School, Portland, ME (Cumberland County) for our next JMG CTE Specialist.
Our CTE Specialists provide new learning opportunities for students and offer support and guidance as students gain the skills and motivation needed to participate in community and workplace activities, graduate from high school, and pursue continued education.
Career and Technical Education (CTE) allows Maine students the opportunity for applied learning and helps them enhance their skills while preparing to enter the workforce. CTE programs offer in-depth training experiences while also supporting exploration into career pathways for middle and high school students.
This is a rewarding, full-time role for an individual who is dedicated, collaborative, and passionate about empowering students and working with school and community partners.
Key Responsibilities & Qualifications- Relationship Building and Student Mentorship Ability to build trusting, supportive relationships with students while maintaining appropriate boundaries. The role requires strong communication, active listening, empathy, and the ability to motivate and guide diverse learners toward academic, career, and personal success.
- Instructional and Program Leadership Strong classroom facilitation skills to deliver engaging, competency-to-credential based instruction, adapt teaching strategies to different learning needs, manage multiple responsibilities, and lead a student-centered program.
- Collaboration and Community Partnership Development Ability to work effectively with CTE staff, families, employers, and community partners to create career-connected learning opportunities, advocate for students, and maintain a strong, positive presence for the program within the school and broader community.
A Bachelor’s degree is required.
Approval:Maine CHRC approval, or the ability to obtain it, is required.
The position will begin August 2026
Compensation And Benefits- Salary: $43,750 per year, with additional performance-based bonuses.

Includes school vacation weeks in December, February, and April, plus 15 additional vacation days. - Sick Leave: 3 weeks of sick time and 1 week of Covid time
