Job Description:
This position is responsible for the functions associated with the acquisition of property rights. Duties involve technical reviews, complex right-of-way determination, plan development functions and condemnation tasks for Project Development projects. This position will perform reviews of existing conditions plans, the design and layout of a variety of property rights to be acquired by condemnation or deed for transportation projects in developing the final right-of-way maps, along with technical description review of the condemnation document.
Other responsibilities will be to ensure the Commissioners signature page for the Notice of Layout and Taking document are complete, compensation payments are made and condemnation packages are accurate and mailed to the property owners in a timely manner.
This position requires knowledge and skills in boundary survey mathematics, CADD plan development, and property research. Ability to work with Right of Way Mappers, Legal Staff, Professional Land Surveyors, Real Estate Managers, Engineers and Project Managers to optimize the right of way mapping process is expected. Additional duties include managing the condemnation process, scheduling and running the monthly condemnation meeting and assisting the Legal Office with any needs including State Claims Commission hearings.
To be minimally qualified for this position candidates must provide evidence of the following experience:
Eight (8) years of experience in engineering
-OR- a Bachelors Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and four (4) years of engineering experience
-OR- an Associate Degree in Engineering or a related technical field and six (6) years of experience in engineering.
