- Coordinate PREA audits and support facility leadership during audits.
- Provide guidance and implement policy changes related to PREA updates.
- Review and support the investigatory process for sexual misconduct to ensure PREA compliance.
- Coordinate with the U.S. Department of Justice to schedule audits, annual reporting, and system updates.
- Complete annual reports to inform the legislature and the Governor’s Office.
- Design and deliver training to DOC staff on sexual safety of residents and management of vulnerable populations to support PREA compliance.
- Provide technical assistance to county jails related to PREA compliance.
- Cross‑train in other compliance areas and perform duties as directed by the Manager of Correctional Operations.
- Knowledge of PREA standards, correctional operations, investigative practices, and techniques.
- Knowledge of State and Federal law related to PREA, correctional facilities, and personnel practices.
- Ability to interpret PREA standards as they relate to correctional practices.
- Ability to conduct investigations related to PREA compliance.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to form and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of stakeholders.
- Bachelor’s degree in an assigned area and four (4) years of related work experience (equivalent related experience may be substituted for education on a year‑for‑year basis).
- Correctional experience involving interpretation of professional standards, compliance monitoring, and inspection of correctional programs.
- Experience with juvenile, adult, and/or community corrections.
- Background and fingerprint checks required, including a PREA DHHS check.
- Experience in facility or program oversight with a focus on PREA compliance.
