This is a 40 hour per week, calendar year position, housed at the Department of Education offices in Augusta. The successful candidate will be able to work remotely, with at least two days per week in the office.
Salary Range$76,232 - $112,258

SUMMARY
DESCRIPTION:
The Finance Manager works with the fiscal team to provide centralized accounting for the Child Development Services organization. Primary responsibilities include preparing and monitoring annual and bi-annual budgets, working with stakeholders to resolve issues, oversight of fiscal staff, maintaining agency internal controls, preparing year-end, and working with external auditors during annual audit process. Experience with Early Childhood Special Education regulations and School Finance preferred.
Tasks Include, But Are Not Limited To
- Plan and direct all activities of the fiscal team
- Prepare and oversee CDS Budgets
- Maintain overall fiscal internal controls
- Attend required meetings on fiscal and agency issues
- Maintain and continue to develop the financial accounting and data collection systems
- Work with CDS regional sites and staff in resolving problems and issues
- Prepare year-end financials and related reports
- Coordinate annual Audit
- BS in accounting, financial management, or other related field preferred
- 3 or more years supervisory and accounting experience preferred
- Proficient with Excel and other Microsoft products
- Knowledge and Experience with GAAP and Governmental Accounting
- Possess excellent oral and written communication skills
Child Development Services serves the early intervention and special education needs of Maine's children birth to age five. We have over 350 employees, a large network of contracted providers and currently serve over 3,500 children ages 0 to 5 years.
CDS consist of 10 principal sites throughout Maine with several satellite offices
