About the Position:

We are seeking motivated candidates for the position of Municipal Training & Support Specialist in Registration, Municipal, and Agent Services. As a Municipal Training & Support Specialist, you will work in training and monitoring the performance of municipal agents in the registration of motor vehicles. Work includes training town representatives to act as agents of the Secretary of State, conducting workshops and refresher training programs, writing procedure manuals, and conducting on site - reviews and taking appropriate corrective action.

Work is performed under limited supervision.

In this role, you will:
  • Instruct, guide, and advise municipal officials on laws, rules, regulations, and procedures relating to motor vehicle registrations to ensure agent performance meets established standards.
  • Conduct workshops and refresher training programs statewide to train agents and maintain proficiency in registration procedures.
  • Perform on-site visits to verify correct procedures, provide guidance, and assist with complex or unusual registration problems.
  • Respond to inquiries from municipal officials and the public regarding registration and excise tax procedures.
  • Prepare and distribute memos, newsletters, and updated guidelines to inform agents of changes in laws, rules, regulations, and procedures.
  • Speak at workshops, seminars, and conventions to provide information and enhance public service.
  • Conduct on-site reviews to evaluate agent performance, take corrective action, and recommend decertification when necessary.
  • Evaluate procedures, identify program challenges, and recommend new or revised processes to improve program efficiency and operations.
  • Prepare forms and reports to keep administrators informed of program activities and effectiveness.
