We are currently seeking a Specialist Health Educator to join our dynamic Community Health Department. This full-time position will play a critical role in promoting the health and well-being of residents in central Maine through accessible health promotion and disease prevention programs.##
Job Description:
** Responsibilities:
*** Lead evidence-based programs chronic disease self-management programs such as Chronic Disease Self-Management, Diabetes Self-Management, Freedom from Smoking, and others to improve community health.
* Collaborate with the team to develop and deliver health promotion materials and write health promotion communications including newsletters, emails and social media posts.
* Provide administrative support through telephonic services for callers seeking resources via Maine General’s Resource Hub.
* Deliver community health education and resources to a variety of populations in a variety of settings.
*
* Qualifications:
*** Bachelor’s degree in Community/Public Health, or a related field; recent graduates and those with relevant internship or volunteer experience are encouraged to apply.
* Experience with group facilitation and engaging participants in health education sessions.
* Experience developing health promotion communications
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) for reporting, creating presentations, and communication materials.
* Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences.

*** Lifestyle Coach for the National Diabetes Prevention Program.
* Leader certifications in:
