American Traveler is seeking a travel RN for a Long Term Care skilled nursing assignment in Augusta, Maine. The role requires an RN license issued by ME or a compact license, BLS certification, and 1+ year experience in a skilled nursing or long‑term care setting. The assignment is a 13‑week travel position with 12‑hour night shifts (6:45 PM - 7:15 AM) and a 36‑hour weekly schedule.

- Work in a post‑acute care setting including LTC, SNF, acute rehab, and assisted living units (38‑bed unit, 1:38 night nurse‑to‑patient ratio).
- Provide care for a patient population with CHF, COPD, post‑surgical needs, etc.
- Perform admissions, discharges, medication administration, and other treatments.
- Use Allscripts and My Unity EMR systems.
- Float among LTC, SNF, acute rehab, and assisted living units.
- Wear lime green and black scrubs with visible green; N95 masks for infection control.
- Complete a three‑day unit‑specific orientation (mix of day and night training).
- Cover weekend shifts every other weekend and holiday coverage rotates with permanent staff.
- Accept no call or standby requirements.
- Coordinate interdisciplinary team including PT/OT/SLP, rehab specialists, case managers, dieticians.
- Assume nursing responsibility for all treatments due to absence of onsite RT.
- Follow infection control measures using N95 masks.
- Active ME or compact RN license.
- Current BLS certification.
- Minimum one year of RN experience.
- Preferred experience:
PICC lines, G‑tubes, wound vacs, and IV certification for LPNs. - COVID‑19 vaccination required per Maine state regulations.
