NEEDED:
Medical Records Technician LOCATION(S):

- At a minimum, must possess six months of direct experience as a Medical Records Tech.
- Two (2) years of experience in administrative services preferably medical
- Technical skills include PC proficiency, specifically Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel).
- Must possess a high school certificate of graduation or General Education Diploma (GED).
- Must have knowledge of routine office related duties including a working knowledge of computers and word processing programs.
- Possess the ability to file various documents in chronological order.
- Possess good organizations skills, good interpersonal relationship skills and be able to work effectively with medical staff.
- Maintain Soldier medical and dental records in compliance with Army Regulation (AR) 40-66.
- Label and safeguard files, output products, and storage media according to their classification level, ensuring they are only disseminated to authorized individuals with a valid need-to-know.
- Create, maintain, and process medical and dental records for incoming, current, and exiting members. This includes reviewing and scanning records into the Health Readiness Records (HRR) module, indexing and labeling within HRR, and filing a copy into the hard copy record. The HRR module serves as a web-based repository for the Maine Army National Guard (MEARNG), storing Service Member medical, dental, and medical personnel action documents.
- Review medical records for completeness prior to individuals departing for Basic Military Training, schools, transfers, discharges, retirements, and all Medical Readiness Events (MREs).
- Prescreen Service Member (SM) medical records for all scheduled Medical Readiness Events (MREs) to ensure that medical and dental health issues requiring evaluation for deployment eligibility are identified. Prescreening results must be completed no later than five (5) calendar days prior to the scheduled MRE.
- Perform a quarterly inventory of Service Member (SM) medical and dental records
- Assist Service Members in coordinating and scheduling appointments with the appropriate medical and dental facilities.
- Participate in a monthly eCase review conducted by the DSS or their designated representative to evaluate all open medical cases. During this review, courses of action and actionable items will be identified for contractors to address for each eCase.
- Maintain contact information for medical and dental offices, as well as hospitals, to facilitate case updates and medical record requests for Service Members (SM).
- Submit all medical and dental documents received for case management to the Medical Command (MEDCOM) and the Maine Army National Guard (MEARNG) medical records custodian after they have been uploaded and indexed in the appropriate DoD system.
- Create medical records for new accession within 14 calendar days of receiving the new enlistment order.
