The Children s Center provides early intervention and family support services to children with special needs and their families. With locations in Central and Western Maine, the organization offers a wide range of services, including Behavioral Health Day Treatment, Autism Programs, Targeted Case Management, Occupational Therapy, Speech and Language Therapy, and Outpatient Mental Health Services. Role DescriptionThis is a full-time or part-time position on-site role for a Children’s Clinician. The Children’s Clinician will work directly with children and families to provide therapeutic support and interventions to address developmental, emotional, and behavioral challenges. Responsibilities include conducting assessments, designing individualized treatment plans, providing one-on-one and group therapy sessions, and maintaining accurate documentation. Collaboration with other professionals and caregivers to deliver holistic care is an integral part of the role.
The position could potentially work at the various sites of Augusta, Skowhegan or Farmington, and/or provide outpatient services at our Augusta site. For the right candidate we could discuss what would be a best fit for the candidate and the agency needs.
- Clinical skills in areas such as conducting assessments, therapy planning, and implementing evidence-based intervention strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with families, children, and interdisciplinary teams.
- Experience in working with children with special needs and diverse behavioral challenges.
- Ability to maintain detailed and accurate records, including treatment plans and case notes.
- Knowledge of early intervention methods, child development, and family-centered care practices.
- Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or a related field, with relevant licensure preferred (e.g., LCSW, LCPC, LMHC).
- Commitment to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment for children, families, and colleagues.
- Previous experience in therapeutic settings or working collaboratively with multi-disciplinary teams is a plus.
