Position: Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)

Job Type: Full-Time

Overview: Saco School District is seeking a motivated and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist to join our dedicated team. The SLP will be responsible for diagnosing and treating speech and language disorders in students, facilitating their ability to achieve academic success and effective munication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct prehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and munication disorders.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to students' specific needs.
  • Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in both individual and group settings.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to support student progress and integrate therapy into the classroom.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of evaluations, therapy sessions, and student progress.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, providing professional input and remendations.
  • Perform screenings and provide consultation services as necessary.
  • Stay current with developments in the field and incorporate evidence‑based practices into therapy.
  • Educate and support school staff on issues related to speech and language development.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech‑Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Valid Maine state license in Speech‑Language Pathology.
  • Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC‑SLP) from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Maine Department of Education certification for Speech‑Language Pathologists.
  • Thorough knowledge of IDEA and other relevant special education regulations.
  • Strong munication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Experience in a school environment is preferred but not required.

Required Licensure and

Certifications:

  • Maine State License: Must possess and maintain a valid license to practice speech‑language pathology in Maine.
  • ASHA Certification: Certificate of Clinical petence (CCC‑SLP) from the American Speech‑Language‑Hearing Association.
  • Maine Department of Education Certification: Certification as a Speech‑Language Pathologist, meeting all state educational and examination requirements.
