The Role:

Radiology Tech Aide

Under the direct supervision of radiological technologists and/or nurses, and in cooperation with all members of the patient care team within Radiology, the Radiology Tech Aide performs a wide range of customer‑service‑related duties, environmental, patient‑care, and supply functions to fully support patient‑care activities in the assigned Radiology patient‑care areas. This is a per‑diem position with weekend coverage needs. Aide will provide rotating coverage across two campuses (Augusta and Waterville), with weekend shifts typically scheduled on Saturdays and Sundays.

Occasional weekday coverage may also be requested based on staffing needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist technologists and nursing staff in direct/indirect patient‑care responsibilities, including lifting/assisting patients onto and off the examining table and ensuring patient safety and comfort.
  • Assist technologists and nurses in the collection of patient information, relevant data, and tracking of orders and images in the information systems.
  • Follow established standards to obtain patient supplies and maintain supply inventories.
  • Meet established standards for maintenance and control of equipment and for cleanliness of general service areas.
  • Exhibit a professional, courteous, and positive demeanor at all times toward patients, staff, and patient families, using appropriate age‑specific standards and customer service.
Qualifications
  • Previous medical experience required.
  • Previous radiology experience highly preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Healthcare provider preferred.
