Caregiver Support Program Manager

The incumbent serves as a Social Work Program Coordinator, locally titled Caregiver Support Program (CSP) Manager, which provides a state-of-the-art continuum of services, education and resources to caregivers of Veterans with complex needs. The Caregiver Support Program includes the Program of Comprehensive Assistance for Family Caregivers (PCAFC) and the Program of General Caregiver Support Services (PGCSS) at the VA Health Care System.

Duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Establishes and maintains an ongoing education program for Veterans, caregivers, community agencies, students, and staff.
• Develops and facilitates CSP-program focused direction, orientation, coaching, in-service training, staff development, and continuing education programs.
• Develops and implements a plan for outreach to Veterans and Veteran caregivers who may benefit from the CSP program services.
• Event planning for National Family Caregiver Month.
• Maintains a current network of referral resources to include peer support mentoring groups, caregiver skill building and self-care educational opportunities, mental health support, legal and financial services.
• Directly supervises interprofessional staff assigned to the Caregiver Support Program.
• May also supervise social work health professional trainee graduate students.
• Coordinates program implementation with multiple clinical services across all campus locations within the VA facility.
• May provide clinical interventions to the Veteran and caregiver populations served by the programs.
• Serves as the subject matter expert (SME) to VA Facility leadership and staff for all CSP related issues and serves as a consultant to other VA professionals and administrators on program specific activities.
• Serves as a liaison to Veterans Integrated Service Network Program (VISN) CSP Program and the VA Central Office (VACO) Program.
• Identifies unmet needs of the caregiver population, their families/significant others and caregivers.
• Performs the administrative and personnel management functions relative to staff supervised including personnel actions, clinical supervision, consultation, negotiation with other departments, and quality improvement.
• Works collaboratively with internal staff, VISN and VACO leadership, and external stakeholders to expedite service delivery.
• Provides consultation and briefings to other staff and internal/external stakeholders on the special needs of caregivers.
• Responsible for monitoring performance measures at the local, VISN, and Central Office levels.
• Recognizes gaps in workforce competencies and ensures supervised staff who require knowledge and skill development receive the training necessary to execute their duties.
• Plans, organizes and coordinates administrative, operational, clinical and personnel activities for the CSP program.
• Responsible for managing and reporting on program specific fund control points, labor mapping, workload, and clinic utilization within the assigned program area.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Competitive salary and regular salary increases

Child Care Subsidy:
After 60 days of employment, full time employees with a total family income below $144,000 may be eligible for a childcare subsidy up to 25% of total eligible childcare costs for eligible children up to the monthly maximum of $416.66
