Overview
The State of Maine Office of Information Technology is seeking a Systems Team Leader to supervise a portion of the Maine
IT team supporting the Department of Education Information systems.
- Supervise technical members of an Application Development team.
- Use servant leadership to meet the needs of multiple, concurrent initiatives while providing continual production support.
- Coordinate team assignments and ensure tasks are completed on time and with appropriate quality.
- Provide leadership to ensure adherence to Maine
IT policies and organizational Working Agreements. - Analyze, identify, and implement workflow improvement opportunities; liaise across teams to resolve conflicts and impediments.
- Advance adoption and use of Use Case documentation; promote automation and the SDLC operational metrics reporting.
- Champion and expand the utilization of Application Deployment Certification processes.
- Strong oral and written communication skills appropriate for business users, managers, project managers, and IT staff.
- Highly organized self-starter with professional judgment, prioritization, responsiveness, and problem-solving abilities.
- Experience in Agile development methodologies (Scrum and Kanban).
- Knowledge of phased-based and iterative software development life cycles and the overall project management life cycle.
- Ability to manage and coordinate small projects with multiple stakeholders; practical experience with test planning, execution, and acceptance criteria.
- Ability to facilitate meetings with business users and managers; collaborate with various IT functional areas; coach and develop IT staff.
- Ability to work with limited supervision and maintain a customer-focused, positive working relationship.
Seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience in application system analysis and programming, including at least one (1) year in a working supervisor role; OR a Bachelor's Degree with 3 years of progressive experience including at least one (1) year in a working supervisor role; OR a Master's Degree with 1 year of progressive experience in application systems analysis in a working supervisory role.
