OVERVIEWThe Department of Administrative and Financial Services (DAFS) Office of Information Technology (MaineIT) provides information technology support to over 13,000 employees. JOB DETAILS
This work provides advanced technical services involving the analysis, design, development, and implementation of complex application systems. Responsibilities include researching and analyzing business needs, formulating and defining application scope and objectives, and designing interfaces to connect and integrate systems capable of fully meeting business needs and objectives.

WORK RESPONSIBILITIESPerform analysis and documentation of business and system interactions. Design technical solutions to business issues and work with the Application Development team to implement those solutions. Involved in all phases of the SDLC:
Requirements Definition and Documentation, Systems Analysis and Design, System Integration, User Acceptance Testing, and Deployment Coordination. Facilitate processes for the team and vendors to ensure they are meeting MaineIT policy and procedures.
- Knowledge of all phases of the software development life cycle and the project development cycle.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to write clearly and effectively.
- Experience gathering business requirements for system design, including advanced methodologies such as story mapping, impact mapping, user story writing and refinement.
- Experience writing queries and analyzing data (SQL).
- Experience in agile development methodology and practices.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in a high‑paced team environment.
- Experience writing and executing test plans with attention to detail and quality focus.
- Strong time management skills and ability to self‑organize.
- Ability to help teams self‑organize.
Four (4) years combination of higher level programming and/or systems analysis and design experience. Masters Degree in Computer Science may be substituted for two (2) years of programming experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Solid working experience in web applications and other current technologies.
- Data design/analysis and data mining using SQL.
