Maintenance Technician

About the Role

Join Barkan Management Company as a full‑time, hands‑on Maintenance Technician in Augusta, ME. You will support the Property Manager with preventive, responsive, routine and emergency maintenance throughout the property.

22.00/hr –  23.00/hr

• Perform maintenance tasks such as painting, electrical, plumbing, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, window/glass repair, door/lock repair and other general repairs in common areas.
• Complete work orders and assist with keeping grounds and common areas clean and free of trash and debris.
• Assist the Facilities and Property Managers on special projects and duties as assigned.
• Provide emergency on‑call service after hours, typically every other week.
• Communicate effectively with residents, vendors, staff and supervisors.
• Follow all company policies, safety and operating procedures.
• Maintain a positive, respectful attitude toward residents, vendors and staff.

• Minimum 2 years of experience in community building maintenance or a related trade.

• Excellent communication, customer service and organizational skills.

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

• Basic computer and Internet proficiency.

Hands‑on repair and maintenance work forms the majority of duties. Candidates must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, use ladders above 8 feet, work outdoors in temperatures over 90°F or below 32°F as required, and operate general maintenance equipment.
