-ANTICIPATED VACANCY-
Core ResponsibilitiesThis position oversees a team of four employees and supervises postal operations for the second largest mailroom in Maine State Government. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Overseeing the sorting, processing and delivery of mail;
- Planning, assigning, scheduling and managing staff;
- Assisting in the oversight of physical plant operations and building maintenance needs;
- Troubleshooting equipment and providing technical assistance;
- Recommending and implementing improvements to the workspace, equipment and ergonomics;
- Coordinating with divisional units to enhance efficiency and to achieve operational goals;
- Monitoring and ensuring occupational health and safety;
- Planning and scheduling activities related to the maintenance of and inventory control for the Department’s central warehouse;
- Overseeing the issue, transfer and disposal of equipment and supplies to maintain control and accountability.
To qualify, your background must include intermediate education, training, and/or experience in Business/Public Administration, Accounting, Economics, or another related field demonstrating competency in coordinating and monitoring business and fiscal operations, conducting procurement functions, and acting in a leadership capacity.
Preference and EncouragementPreference will be given to candidates with demonstrated experience managing operations in a high-volume setting.
