-ANTICIPATED VACANCY-

Core Responsibilities

This position oversees a team of four employees and supervises postal operations for the second largest mailroom in Maine State Government. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Overseeing the sorting, processing and delivery of mail;
  • Planning, assigning, scheduling and managing staff;
  • Assisting in the oversight of physical plant operations and building maintenance needs;
  • Troubleshooting equipment and providing technical assistance;
  • Recommending and implementing improvements to the workspace, equipment and ergonomics;
  • Coordinating with divisional units to enhance efficiency and to achieve operational goals;
  • Monitoring and ensuring occupational health and safety;
  • Planning and scheduling activities related to the maintenance of and inventory control for the Department’s central warehouse;
  • Overseeing the issue, transfer and disposal of equipment and supplies to maintain control and accountability.
Minimum Qualifications

To qualify, your background must include intermediate education, training, and/or experience in Business/Public Administration, Accounting, Economics, or another related field demonstrating competency in coordinating and monitoring business and fiscal operations, conducting procurement functions, and acting in a leadership capacity.
