Job Description & How to Apply Below

SVP, Innovation & Efficiency Officer | Norway Savings Bank | Norway, ME

Smith & Wilkinson is partnering with Norway Savings Bank to find a leader who can turn technology investment into real operational advantage.

This is a newly created executive role reporting directly to the President & CEO. You'll lead the Bank's Business Intelligence, Project Management, and Digital Banking Administration functions, and you'll own one of the most strategic mandates in the organization: making a $2B community bank faster, smarter, and more scalable, including championing its AI initiatives.

A little about Norway Savings Bank: established in 1866, NSB is a $2 billion state-chartered mutual bank, the 8th largest headquartered in Maine, with 300+ employees and 25 branches across Maine and New Hampshire. As a mutual, it answers to depositors rather than shareholders, which means it gets to take the long view. It's also a seven‑time "Best Wellness Employer – Gold" honoree with a deep community commitment.

What you'll do:

  • Lead and develop the BI, Digital Banking, and Project Management teams
  • Champion the Bank's AI and emerging-technology agenda
  • Drive automation and process optimization to modernize operations and improve scalability
  • Partner with executive leadership and business line leaders to advance strategic initiatives
  • Lead system conversions, upgrades, and vendor relationships end to end
  • Translate high-level vision into hands‑on execution across systems and service delivery

What we're looking for:

  • 10+ years in technology-focused process improvement, transformation, and system implementation, with a strong operational‑efficiency emphasis
  • A leader who can set vision and stay in the details
  • Strong analytical, communication, and relationship‑building skills
  • Experience in dynamic, fast‑moving environments
  • A track record of building and coaching teams

This is a chance to shape a role from the ground up at a bank that's genuinely invested in its people and its communities.
