Midcoast Council of Governments (MCOG) is a non‑profit, municipally driven regional planning and economic development organization dedicated to strengthening the capabilities of member municipalities and counties. Member communities share a common purpose: to strengthen local government by combining resources to accomplish together what no individual municipality can do alone.
As Executive Director, you will lead all operations of MCOG, overseeing a multidisciplinary team, manage finances and grants, and champion the region’s economic and community development. This is a full‑time, salaried position based in Damariscotta, with hybrid flexibility, occasional in‑state and out‑of‑state travel.

- Strong financial management skills
- A successful track record securing and managing federal and state grants
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated success building programs, expanding organizational capacity, and managing complex projects end‑to‑end
- Familiarity with municipal government and the needs of local public agencies
Starting salary range: $105,000 – 125,000, depending on experience. MCOG offers competitive benefits, including 100% coverage of health insurance, as well as flexibility to meet your specific needs.
