You will be responsible for running jobs, from setup through 1st piece inspection, in-process inspection, and job tear down. These responsibilities include working with setup and tooling sheets, uploading and downloading CNC Programs, accurately machining product, documenting inspection sheets, maintaining cleanliness in work area, accurately accounting for all job time through ERP software, conforming to KT safety and 5S standards and production of parts to expected quality standards.

Kennebec 2nd shift Team Members work Monday - Thursday from 3:30pm to 2:00am. Overtime opportunities are available.

We are looking for Machinists that can demonstrate their experience with CNC machining. Being able to program would be a plus.

Our ideal candidate would have a machining certificate from a qualified program, which includes The Accelerated Training in Defense Manufacturing (ATDM) program, 2-year Machine Tool Technology degree, Machinist Apprenticeship program, or equivalent work experience.

Experience with Milling, Lathes, Roughing, and Finishing operations as they relate to producing a manufactured part through machining. At Kennebec we work as a Team being able to work across departments, collaborating with Manufacturing Engineers and Quality Control to ensure we are supplying our customers with exceptional parts and service.

Other qualifications include:

  • The ability to read Blueprints, GD&T and inspection skills a strong plus.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Demonstrate basic working knowledge of inspection methodologies.
  • Ability to apply knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, sequencing, metal properties, layout, tolerances, and machining procedures.
